Our dementia programs offer vital support, connection, and education for individuals with dementia and their caregivers. Led by a dedicated team, our two staff members develop, direct, and facilitate these programs to ensure meaningful engagement and compassionate care. Our center provides a welcoming space for social interaction through music, art, and storytelling, thereby reducing isolation and fostering meaningful connections. We also offer a safe space to share experiences, receive emotional support, and access valuable dementia care resources.
According to the 2023 US Census, the 65 and over age group has been the fastest growing demographic in Alpena County, increasing by 27.8% between 2010 and 2022, so the demand for this type of programming will only grow over time. We want to ensure that every family in Alpena County who needs these services will continue to have access to them; however, to do that, we need additional financial support from our community.
